Dr. David Bowen

Dr. David Bowen was raised on a farm near King in the Chestnut Grove community. He graduated from South Stokes High School and received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from N.C. State University. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. Dr. Bowen volunteered at King Veterinary Hospital during high school and college. In 1986, he bought the practice, then located on Meadowbrook Drive, from the previous owner, Dr. David Thompson. He moved the practice into the current hospital facility at 425 Kirby Road in October, 1995.

Dr. Bowen is a member of the AVMA, the NCVMA and the NC Small Animal Academy.

When he's not at work, Dr. Bowen enjoys acting in community theatre, playing clawhammer banjo, singing all kinds of music and laughing at his son's antics.

Dr. Michelle Aldridge

Dr. Michelle Aldridge is a Washington State native. She received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of Washington and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2021. Upon graduation, Dr. Aldridge relocated to North Carolina to seek adventure and start a family.

In her spare time, Dr. Aldridge enjoys gardening, spending time with family, horseback riding and wine tasting. Dr. Aldridge purchased King Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Bowen in July 2024 and is honored to serve the animals and their people in Stokes County and surrounding communities.

Tracey
(Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant)

Tracey hails from Yonkers, NY by way of Florida and Arizona. She has spent over 20 years working in veterinary medicine. She has a special love for the Boxer breed.

She loves to read and is a big Yankees fan.

Kaylee
(Veterinary Assistant)

Kaylee was born and raised in Surry County. She volunteers with rescue groups any chance she gets. Her family has many different kinds of pets, but cats are her favorite.

Carolyn
(Veterinary Assistant)

Carolyn is from the Hudson Valley in New York and moved to North Carolina in 2017. She loves Boxers and Pit Bulls and like to cook in her spare time.

Kohl
(Hospital Manager)

Kohl came here in 2013 after childhood on the streets. He may greet you at the front desk if he's not busy. His favorite thing to do is eat; grapefruit is a favorite. His hobbies include birdwatching, taste-testing the houseplants and foraging for lost kibble.
