Dr. David Bowen
Dr. David Bowen was raised on a farm near King in the Chestnut Grove community. He graduated from South Stokes High School and received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from N.C. State University. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. Dr. Bowen volunteered at King Veterinary Hospital during high school and college. In 1986, he bought the practice, then located on Meadowbrook Drive, from the previous owner, Dr. David Thompson. He moved the practice into the current hospital facility at 425 Kirby Road in October, 1995.

When he's not at work, Dr. Bowen enjoys acting in community theatre, playing clawhammer banjo, singing all kinds of music and laughing at his son's antics.
